Optical Design and High Abbe Number Lenses

In general optical design, the balance between refractive index and Abbe number is optimized to enhance the overall performance of the lens system.
High Abbe number lenses are used to minimize chromatic aberration (the shift in focus due to wavelength differences) and are characterized by minimal dispersion (color fringing caused by the prism effect). This ensures accurate observation.

PT Front Lens Features

The optical design optimized for retinal observation ensures precise focusing on the retina.

By using carefully selected glass materials and high Abbe numbers, chromatic aberration is reduced.

The lens is capable of focusing on peripheral areas, providing clear images with minimal distortion.

This allows for detailed observation of the retina, ensuring high visibility even during wide-field observation.

Lens Characteristics

 

1.The focus is sharp from the central retina to the periphery, making it easier to identify peripheral retinal tears.

2.The wide field of view and high resolution allow membrane procedures without specialized lenses.

3.This lens minimizes distortion of the fundus

The nearly horizontal shaft may appear straight due to defocus rather than actual distortion.

4.Minimal distortion at the focal plane enables precise micro-manipulation

By converging light to focus on the retina, distortion is reduced, resulting in sharp resolution.

5.Tilting the eye allows observation of the peripheral area.

Due to the shallow incidence angle of the observation light, tilting the eye does not cause obstruction by the iris, enabling a clear view of the far periphery. Additionally, the lens adapts to the curvature, maintaining high contrast and resolution even at the edges.
